| 1. Vendor Selection and Testing
Unitech Toys Inc manufactures its products only at one designated manufacturing plant. The manufacturing factory along with Unitech Toys Inc evaluated and approved a list of vendors for every component used in production of toys and gadgets for Unitech Toys Inc. All the vendors carry applicable certificates on raw materials and other components that we purchase.
Annually, Unitech Toys Inc invites third party representatives to randomly draw samples for testing for compliance to ASTM F963-03, (the American Society for Testing and Materials) standard for toy safety. Along with this testing we also perform additional tests for compliance with Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). All the testing is being done by independent third party laboratories.
Unitech Toys Inc. ships products worldwide. We also test for lead, phthalates, heavy metals, for compliance with European safety standard (EN71), for compliance with strict Japanese safety regulations (ST2002), and compliance with Australian safety standards.
Some smaller importers are required to certify the product locally to comply their own safety regulations. Thus, Fun-Fly-Stick toy also conforms safety requirements for Israel and Russia.
Unitech Toys Inc does not change vendors in between testing. Vendors are required to carry their certificates and maintain them current.
2. Infringing Fun-Fly-Sticks and "look-alikes"
Unitech Toys Inc. is the creator of battery operated levitation wand product and concept. The product and concept are protected by patent and trademark. Being a pioneer in battery-operated electrostatic toys, UNITECH had developed very important safety features for this class of products and patented them. Failure to use these features results in potentially dangerous product emitting repetitive electric micro shocks, and causing more significant electric shocks thereafter. As the concept of these toys is relatively new, there are no safety regulations applicable to this class of toys.
Any wand performing levitation, resembling Fun-Fly-Stick is a mere knock off of our product. Any infringing Fun-Fly-Stick or "look alike" manufactured by unauthorized third parties may not be safety tested and certified. We carry no responsibility for those items.
We are aware of a mass retail manufacturing company that tried to circumvent our patent and neglected to implement safety features in the knock off they made. The item is unsafe and is currently being sold in the USA under a different name.
Unfortunately, lack of safety regulations allows them to get away with this.
